Experience Virginia City while staying in a beautifully restored, 3 story, 1876 Victorian mansion. Piper's Opera House is only a half block away and the center of 'C' Street (our main street) is only 2 blocks down the hill. Luxury accommodations furnished in period antiques await you and enhance your 'Victorian' experience. Your hosts, Paul Yandre and Jeff Teague have lived in Virginia City for well over 20 years and can help you derive the most from your visit to this historical mining town, once the largest city between St. Louis and San Francisco (at one time even larger than Los Angeles!). All six rooms have private baths, wireless high speed internet access, central heat and AC with individual thermostats in each room. Spacious common areas, an elegant dining room, not one but two kitchens, and fabulous views down the valley of the Carson River where the old Pony Express used to ride. A full breakfast awaits you in the morning beginning at 8:00 am and 'early-bird' coffee and rolls and cold cereals are available from 6:30 am until 10:00 am. Five rooms are located upstairs in the mansion, but one room is on the first floor for those who may have trouble with stairs or the altitude. Reading materials are available on Virginia City and Nevada, as well as general reading. Smoking is not permitted inside the mansion and because the proprietors have two small dogs of their own (who are totally spoiled), no pets (Mancha and Tasha don't share well!). $99.00 to $199.00 per night plus tax. Discounts for multiple night stays.
