Storey County’s fair and recreation board, Virginia City Tourism Commission (referred herein to as VCTC), is looking to restructure the way their signature events are produced.  In order to continue and build upon a long tradition of such special events, the VCTC is soliciting proposals from firms / promoters (referred herein to as Promoter) to assist in providing first class event and parade coordination for Virginia City.

The event Promoter will work with the Commission and the Tourism Director, who serves as the County’s liaison to the fair and recreation board. The VCTC is seeking requests for proposal to provide event planning, coordination, sponsorship development, vendor coordination and leadership for the organization’s annual signature events and parades including but not limited to: 

  • Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry,
  • St. Patrick’s Day Parade
  • Chili on the Comstock
  • Memorial Day Parade & Railfest Celebration
  • 4th of July Parade & Fireworks Celebration
  • Americana Music Festival
  • Battle Born Live Cannon Shoot & Hammer-In
  • Labor Day Parade
  • International Camel Races
  • World Championship Outhouse Races
  • Veterans Day Parade
  • Christmas on the Comstock & Parade of Lights.
