Gillig Block Building (Red Garter)
The Gillig Block building was built in 1876 by storekeeper John Gillig. It has seen many tenants and businesses since then. In 1937, there was something called “White Front” at the location. In modern day it is the Old Red Garter Western Wear. Rococo Architecture was popular in the 18th century and arches are characterized with intricate curves, scrolls, and naturalistic motifs like shells and acanthus leaves.
