Stockbroker George Marye built this building in Virginia City in the 1870s. It was one of the largest and most expensive buildings on the Comstock at the time. The building burned in 1951. Characterized by symmetry, classical proportions and a focus on a balanced design, the Marye building embodies the features of Georgian style architecture.
