Comstock State of Mind

So what’s a Comstock State of Mind? We invite you to pull up a stool, pour a glass of our Cemetery Gin, sit back and hear directly from our local musicians why Virginia City, Nevada chooses you. The history of music here dates back to the discovery of the Comstock Lode in 1859. Since that time, we’ve played host to performers on the stage at the historic Piper’s Opera House, got groovy with the 1960s psychedelic rock and roll movement and have heard musicians from around the world. You may have heard of places like the Bucket of Blood or Red Dog Saloon made famous by many a performer. Today is no different. We’re here to tell you, that our next great discovery is the talent right here in our own back yard. On any given weekend you’ll find country, rock, folk and classic tunes being played from the saloons – kinda reminiscent of our heyday in the late 1800s. It’s nice to know that some things never change. This special project brought together local musicians, each of whom calls Virginia City their home stage, to create a song just for our town, about our town. This is the story of that six-month project journey. Join us and see what it’s like to live a Comstock State of Mind.
