The 2025 Youth Summer Camp in Digital Storytelling is perfect for youth aged 10-to-18 who love to be creative and want to learn new skills.

  • During the camp, students will learn how to create a storyboard, write a script, shoot footage, and edit their film using professional software.
  • They’ll work collaboratively with their peers to create a story based on Comstock history from conception to completion.
  • Our experienced instructors and professional filmmakers will guide them through the entire process, from start to finish.
  • At the end of the Summer Camp, your child will have a completed short film to show off to friends and family, or to submit in the Fourth Ward School Museum Film Festival in September!

Check out the short film created by film students in a previous year, called the ‘Note of Sutro’.

The camp meets twice a week for two weeks on Mondays and Wednesdays, beginning on July 14, 2025. Each of the sessions runs from 11 AM to 4 PM and is located at the Historic Fourth Ward School Museum in Virginia City, NV.

Tuition is $20 per student. Please reserve your child’s spot through Eventbrite or by contacting the museum directly.

Note that equipment, light snacks and refreshments will be provided but that students are responsible for their own transportation and lunch.
