Gold Hill Hosts a Lecture Series: Joe Curtis and Ron Gallagher Part 3

Lecture Series Continues – Thursday, November 2nd with Joe Curtis and Ron Gallagher – Where did all the old buildings go, part 3!

Gold Hill is pleased to continue the 2023 Lecture Series at the Historic Gold Hill Hotel!

Dinner starts at 4:30 p.m. and the lecture starts at 7:00 p.m.

Joe and Ron will be presenting their personal collection of photos of what WAS there and some of what is in that place now.  Photos you have likely never seen before.  Naked buildings with all their outerwear removed.   What happened to the hundreds of buildings that were on the Comstock?  The nature of their demise.  This lecture will give you some answers.  So, the next time you walk down the street in Virginia City you will have a whole new feel of what you would have been walking past in the 1880’s or so.

Joe Curtis: Joe’s parents moved to VC in 1958 when they bought a building and opened a museum dedicated to the history of life on the Comstock.  He grew up amidst the museum and became infatuated with the history of the Comstock and began collecting old photos of the area back in the day.

Ron Gallagher: A local aged artifact of the Comstock.  Raised here, with lots of relatives dating well into the lower 1800s and a head full of Comstock knowledge, recollections, stories, and other associated Comstock BS.
