Piper’s Opera House Premiers “Murder at the Gin Joint”
Historic Piper’s Opera House is opening its doors once again for what it was meant to be – a performing arts venue. “Murder at the Gin Joint” premiers this August and is a murder mystery presented by the Piper’s Players.
“Murder at the Gin Joint” is the story of a young woman, Elizabeth McGee, who lives with her uncle in a time of prohibition. When she discovers this uncle runs an illegal speakeasy, she is pulled into a new world and soon tensions at The Gin Joint explode creating a murder mystery the audience will love.
There are six performances of “Murder at the Gin Joint” throughout August:
- Aug. 7-8; 7 p.m.
- Aug. 9; 2 p.m.
- Aug. 14-15; 7 p.m.
- Aug. 16; 2 p.m.
Piper’s Opera House requires all attendees to wear masks and ticket sales have been limited to 50 per show to accommodate social distancing. All shows are 18 and older. A cash bar is provided. Tickets are $30 and are available online at PipersOperaHouse.com or by calling 775-847-0433.
Piper’s Players is a non-profit, free community theater group that call Piper’s Opera House home. The group provides acting opportunities for the rural and local communities around Virginia City, Nevada.
