Plan Your 2026 Virginia City, NV Adventure

 In Our Tales

There is something special about winter in Virginia City. The crowds thin out, the air is crisp, and the whole town feels just a bit more magical. It is the perfect time to slow down, stay overnight, and enjoy the quieter side of the Comstock. Of course, “quiet” doesn’t really exist in my world. Even in winter, we’re already deep into planning for next year.

As someone who spends most of the year elbow-deep in planning meetings, reviewing special event applications, and juggling about seventeen different spreadsheets, I can tell you now that 2026 is shaping up to be one of our most exciting event years yet.

We’ll kick things off in February with the return of The Devil Made Me Do It Saloon Crawl, always a favorite for those who love a little mischief. Spring brings a full lineup, including the Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry, Virginia City Grand Prix, and an off-road poker run. Not many places can offer that kind of variety!

As we roll into summer, you can expect a brand-new event that I can’t wait to announce, along with all of the Fourth of July festivities throughout the Comstock, plus events hosted by St. Mary’s Art Center and the Historic Fourth Ward School & Museum.

Fall is packed, as usual, with the International Camel & Ostrich Races and a full Hauntober © schedule that includes the World Championship Outhouse Races, Redrun VIII, and Mark Twain Days.

By December, we wrap up the year with Christmas on the Comstock and all the events that make that month pure magic.

And honestly, this doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of what’s planned for 2026. I haven’t even mentioned the multiple parades, art fairs, or the Chili on the Comstock & Craft Brew Tour happening in May. The list just keeps growing, and I keep thinking of more worth mentioning as I write this.

Needless to say, now is the perfect time to start planning a trip to Virginia City. Book a room, bring your friends and family, and experience a town that celebrates every season like it is the main event.

Keep an eye on VisitvirginiaCitynv.com for the official release of our 2026 events calendar, and know that behind the scenes, we’re working hard to make your experience better than ever while staying true to our authentic charm.

See you soon!
