The Most Magical Day on the Comstock

 In Our Tales

There’s nothing like a daddy-daughter date to make your princess feel like the most special girl in the world. Truth be told, some dads may struggle with finding ways to get dad and daughter time, which is why every year, Virginia City hosts fathers and their daughters for our annual Father-Daughter Dance, an unforgettable day of dancing, sweet treats and most important of all, memory-making.

This year’s Father-Daughter Dance is April 17. Dads are encouraged to don their finest attire and bring along their Victorian princesses to the Comstock for lunch, an old-time photo session, sweet treats from Virginia City’s candy shops, hot cocoa, a flower and of course, an unforgettable dance. Fantastic treats, seeing other princesses and familiar music makes for an extra special date she’ll always remember.

“This is a special occasion and one that many fathers in the region look forward to with their daughters each year, I know I certainly have” Deny Dotson, tourism director for Virginia City Tourism Commission, said. “Our local shops and businesses love getting involved and seeing the smiles on the little girls’ faces. It’s a great day for everyone in a photo perfect setting.”

Two dance times offer the opportunity to accommodate schedules as well as current safety guidelines. Tickets are available for either the 12:30 or 2 p.m. dance time. Beverages are available upon request during the dance. Keeping social distancing guidelines in mind, each dance is one hour to accommodate for deep cleaning between dances.

While this year’s dance is sold out, we encourage you to stay up to date with all events and activities in Virginia City by following us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
